Thames Valley Police is looking for confident individuals to join their Physical Development Team in their Learning & Development department.
Engaged communities are central to the detection, prevention and reduction of crime and help us to maintain public safety. It is vital that we sustain and build public confidence in the police, and also ensure our officers and staff are equipped and confident to police effectively.
In this role, you will be working as part of a wider team delivering all aspects of the College of Policing’s National Personal Safety Training Portfolio, including teaching the proportionate and legitimate use of force; carrying out Fitness Testing, Wellbeing support; and creating development programmes for Officers and Staff to ensure they have the skills, knowledge and experience to safely carry out their roles and duties.
To join our team, you will have a minimum of a Fitness related Level 3 qualification or higher (Premier Diploma, YMCA or equivalent); have proven and recent experience of coaching or teaching groups. Experience of delivering presentations and classroom based training would also be advantageous.
You will need to demonstrate experience of sound decision making, together with strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills; and an ability to communicate ideas and information effectively. A clear understanding of integrity and a mature approach to work, coupled with high levels of commitment, enthusiasm and creativity are critical to this role.
You should be passionate about developing others through delivering and facilitating effective learning, meet required standards, and should enjoy working as part of a team with the motivation to also work independently.
Opportunities are available based at our Force Personal Safety Training Centre at Sulhamstead; however a flexible approach to working hours (including some weekend working) and the ability to travel to different locations within the force is essential.
Selection for this position will include a one-day Assessment Centre.
