Since its inception in 2008, Careers in Sport has become the go-to organisation for young people embarking upon their sporting career.
Our website, which attracts over 175,000 unique visitors annually and growing, contains a number of key elements:-

Universities – our detailed and unique directory highlights the Universities who offer undergraduate and postgraduate sports degree courses.
University & School and College Events – Careers in Sport have successfully run almost 30 live events at colleges and Universities all over the UK, providing information and inspiration for young people seeking a rewarding and fulfilling career in sport. The day includes inspiring talks and presentations from leading sports and fitness professionals plus practical taster sessions from professional sports clubs and National Governing Bodies of sport.
Additionally, you can learn all about how to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle in the Health and Fitness Zone, while in the Sport Zone there are hands-on opportunities to look at learning a new sport that you might not have considered before.

Harvey Grout
Business Development Director
Harvey is a qualified Teacher of Physical Education and taught in secondary schools in England and Australia. He progressed to become Course Director in the Leadership in Sport degree at the University of Reading and then moved to become a Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton and the University of Gloucestershire.
Recently he became Subject Leader for the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Physical Education degree back at the University of Reading. Harvey is co-author of ‘Improving Teaching and Learning in Physical Education’ and ‘101 Classroom Games’.
Harvey set up Careers in Sport in 2008 to help young people know about the diverse careers available in the sport and fitness industries and understand the experience and qualifications required for young people to achieve their career goals.
Careers in Sport has since developed into the number one source for jobs in sport, with the website attracting over 175,000 visitors a year, in addition to being the go-to organisation for young people embarking upon their sporting career. Harvey also helps organise the hugely popular LIVE events that take place in key geographical locations throughout the UK, including many Universities who run various courses in sport and fitness.
Peter Cleaver
Health and Fitness Director
Peter has worked within the sports and leisure industry for over 25 years. On leaving school Peter joined the army where he excelled in sports representing the Army at Athletics and Skiing. Whilst in the Army Peter also qualified as a skiing instructor.
On leaving the Army Peter continued his career in sport taking up American Football where he represented Great Britain and was selected to play for an All Star European team.
Peter supplemented his income by training as a personal trainer, swimming teacher and had qualified as a basketball coach, canoeing instructor and swimming teacher.
Nick Judd
Media Director
Nick has been working in publishing for more than 16 years and has worked with some huge brands including Manchester United, The North Face, LOCOG, Castrol, BUPA and The Football Association.
He has edited, to date, more than 500 football publications for clubs and country, and continues to edit titles for the FA and Careers in Sport, as well as BESTFIT, a free health and fitness magazine available online or in print. He has contributed features for a number of national print and online publications including The Independent, FourFourTwo, FHM, Sky Sports, UEFA, Forever Sports and The Locker.
As a copywriter, he has provided work for brands including The North Face, Castrol, Milwaukee, CAT, Ascot Racecourse, Kyocera, AEG, LOCOG, Virgin Holidays and Kodak, among others. He has written five books.
Jon Wilson
Data Manager
Having worked in the IT industry for over 25 years Jon has now taken on the role of managing the ever changing website along with the data aspect. He has been with Careers In Sport for over 12 years and offer a wealth of knowledge and experience. He often out of sight but works incredibly hard to keep the website up to date and is frequently introducing new features.
