We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with experience in working with children and an interest in sport. The job will consist of delivering sports coaching sessions to primary aged children in the East Grinstead area (Dormansland Primary School)
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- High level of curricular/extra-curricular/Holiday course delivery
- Build strong working relationships with schools & stakeholders
- Product Up-sell
- Execute consistent, High-quality planning & pupil assessment
- Record & report weekly anecdotal ‘Added Value’ data
- Cross-Market of events E.g. Holiday courses
- Drive occupancy rates
- To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance registers, collect monies, carry out risk assessments.
Skills and abilities
- To be well established with and confident in understanding the club’s policies and procedures and be able to explain how these policies are suitably aligned to your daily practice.
- To plan, deliver and manage a co-ordinated programme of high quality, professional specific activities which reflect the needs of individuals within the venue.
- Play a central role in enabling the company to achieve its strategic objective of enhancing educational achievement, extra-curricular experiences, and planning for recognised talent in children.
- To encourage attendance and build resilience in children, in particular by those who do not usually participate in the specific programme or physical activity.
- To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance registers, collect monies, carry out risk assessments.
- To ensure that all activities are delivered within a safe, controlled environment.
- To be responsible for engaging children between the contracted hours and ensure safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Oversee all programmes in line with best practice guidelines in health/safety, safeguarding and child protection.
- To report any suspicions or reports of abuse against staff or children.
- To contribute to the setup of learning spaces including moving equipment and furniture and understanding the impact of enabling environments
- To recognise the importance of safeguarding, how it can differentiate, applying procedures in practice, and take any action required to ensure the safety and welfare of children. To be proactive in ensuring that you are clear on your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and child protection and you know how to report any low or high-level concerns immediately to the Safeguarding Lead
- To support the maintaining and logging of confidential records as required, e.g. accident/ incident forms, medication and safeguarding disclosures.

Qualification and knowledge
Mandatory training
This will involve:
- Expected to undertake all mandatory training modules which are provided by Premier Education to assist you in carrying out all of duties safely and effectively prior to starting work directly with the children. Training modules may look like: Safeguarding, Prevent, FGM, Equality, GDPR.
- To complete Level 3 Paediatric First Aid training, as you are expected to deliver and respond to all levels of first aid when necessary.
Data Protection
This will involve:
- To be aware of the companies’ responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 2018 for the security, accuracy and relevance of personal data held on such systems and ensure that all administrative and financial processes comply with this.
- To maintain children’s records and archive systems, in accordance with companies’ procedure, policy and statutory requirements.
Confidentiality
This will involve:
- You are expected to treat all information acquired through your employment, both formally and informally, in strict confidence.
- There are strict rules and protocols defining employees’ access to and use of the companies’ databases
- Any breach of these rules and protocols will be regarded as subject to disciplinary investigation. There are internal procedures in place for employees to raise matters of concern regarding such issues as bad practice or mismanagement.
Personal Attributes and other requirements
- Has a strong sense of high quality standards and expectations with an innovative approach to being successful
- Willingness to travel to meet with peers and customers across Sussex with a full Drivers Licence and use of a vehicle.
- Willingness to occasionally work unsociable hours
- Must have a balanced blend of characteristics, demonstrating self-control, assertiveness, dependability and influencing in equal measures
- Can be flexible and prepared to undertake any reasonable duties accustomed to the role when required
