Team Bath Athletic Club (TBAC) is one of the top athletic clubs in the South-West with about 500 members between ages 8 and 80.  Members train and compete in track and field, and road and trail endurance running events.  There is a junior athletics program, called 365, which enrols on a termly basis that introduces children aged 8-12 years to all aspects of athletics. The club is based at the prestigious Sports Training Village of the University of Bath but is quite distinct from the university organisation. This vacancy arises from the resignation of the present manager.

The purpose of the job is to manage administrative affairs for the Club. This includes, but is not limited to, membership, junior 365 programme, basic enquiries, financial records as well as ‘front of house’ presence during training sessions. The manager will work co-operatively with the club and coaching manager and the two will provide a very basic level of cross cover during holidays

The successful applicant will be paid to work 24 hours in an average week, though the nature of the job is that there are peaks and troughs in workload.  Five of the weekly hours must be spent at the University of Bath Sports Training Village from 17.50 to 20.20 on Tuesday and Thursday club nights. There they provide a reception, enquiry, and trouble-shooting role either at a desk or mobile with clipboard. There is also a presence needed on Sunday morning between 8.45 and 11 15 about once a month. This is shared with the club and coaching manager who attends the other Sunday sessions. The remaining hours can be completed flexibly and are based at home.

The ideal candidate would have some experience of administration of community organisations and be confident in dealing with members of the public. They must be comfortable with a membership database, spread sheet and email work and be able to operate independently. The manager will act under the guidance and report to the member of the Executive Committee responsible for HR

The role will be paid at £13,773 pro rata for a 24/35-hour contract. (£20,085 PA FTE)

For more information, or for a discussion of what the role entails please contact Tom Hutchison club welfare officer by email   welfare@teambathac.org        or phone        07759174595

Applications should be made as a CV and covering letter naming two referees one of whom is the current or most recent employer. Application closing date 11 November. Interviews in week of 15 November by arrangement
