If you know how to lock, pop and breakdance and love the freedom of freestyling, you could be our newest Street Dance Teacher. At GLL, we’re expanding our dance programme at Academy Performing Arts in Woolwich and want to offer more local people the opportunity to learn and develop street dance techniques. Being a charitable social enterprise, means that we want to make dance accessible and affordable to all and we’re looking for a Street Dance Teacher who shares our mission.
You’ll be able to teach and demonstrate the basics of street dance including locking, popping, break dance and hip hop as well as helping your students to develop a good technique. It’s not just about the practical sessions though as you’ll need to plan and prepare lessons and assess and record development. Success in this role will be the creation of your own dance troupe and helping them win competitions.
With a degree in dance, a level 6 diploma and/or a qualification in teaching dance, your experience will have shown you how to spot and develop raw talent. You’ll know how to give structure to your classes and keep your students engaged whether they’re beginners or professionals preparing for auditions.
In return, we offer a range of benefits that you’d expect from the UK’s largest leisure provider:
- Pension schemes
- Discounted membership at our leisure centres
- Career pathways
- Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications, age and location.
