Fusion Sport has an exciting opportunity for two recent graduates or post graduate candidates to complete a 6 month paid internship as part of the Sport Science Service Team. The successful candidates will receive comprehensive training to become a Smartabase “Builder”, to be a part of our Sports Science Service team working with current and potential customers. There is potential for this role to develop into a full time or permanent position for the right candidate.

Position Details

Position Title: Sport Scientist Intern, Sport Science Service Team
Work Type: Part time (approx. 20 hours per week)
Duration: 6 months (starting in April/May)
Salary: £8 per hour
Location: Fusion Sport Office, Nottingham, UK (Remote working is an option with expectation to travel to the Nottingham Office for on-site days at regular intervals)

Role Tasks

SMARTABASE development

  • Build within the SMARTABASE domain, best practice data management forms, reports and work flow solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Support lead and senior members of the team in timely delivery of service for customers
  • Assist with internal R&D projects and development as required
  • Delivery of training session for customers on all aspects of SMARTABASE
  • Handle user support requests, and customer user issues timely and efficiently
  • Platform Support, troubleshooting, testing and reporting on platform issues bugs and communicating with customers, and internal teams

Planning, Documentation and Communications

  • Contribute to the planning, communications and execution of customer projects as directed by senior lead and manager
  • Assist with documentation and accurate record keeping within our business systems
  • Contribute to team communication and skill sharing as guided by the senior team members and manager
  • Attend, organise and contribute to meetings related to project planning / development as required

Required Skills

  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to learn and then deliver educational materials
  • Critical analysis skills
  • Degree in Sports and Exercise Science, or similar, with a strong academic record
  • High level of competence and MS Excel and experience with data management
  • Excellent computing and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent email and telephone communication skills

Other Requirements

  • Applicants must be able and ready to start full-time work in April/May if successful
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work within the United Kingdom
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Passport
