Essex Cricket – Senior Partnership Lead 

Primary Role: To support management with the growth and development of the Club’s commercial partnerships

Position and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving agreed sales target for sponsorship
  • Responsible for Partnerships, including existing clients, re-activation of lapsed clients and new business
  • Work with Partnerships and Hospitality Manager to deliver on all aspects of Partnership agreements
  • Support management with the growth and development of existing business contacts through face-to-face meetings
  • To make use of a variety of tools including, but not limited to, networking, LinkedIn, web browsing, use of external databases and visits to local businesses
  • Responsible for executing all partnership activation tasks as agreed with Partnerships and Hospitality Manager
  • Work closely with Partnership and Hospitality Manager with the strategic vision for Partnerships and events
  • Responsible for advertising sales and delivery outside partnership agreements
  • Responsible for attendance at Essex Cricket Business Club events and sale of Business Club Memberships
  • Attend partnership meetings as required e.g. renewal and activation meetings
  • Attend Club hosted events and work closely with the Commercial team to ensure the smooth delivery
  • Play a leading role in meeting, greeting and hosting clients/guests and to network with all stakeholders of the business
  • Support in the production and delivery of the annual Commercial Brochure across the region
  • To manage the sales pipeline for all sales enquires and to ensure data is captured using the sales CRM system, events500
  • To ensure all partnerships agreements are profitable and budgets adhered to
  • To represent the business at networking events weekly, referring work to sponsors and generating new leads for Essex Cricket

Key Skills & Capabilities:

Essential Criteria

  • Ambitious, driven, confident and self-motivated
  • Experience managing relationships with commercial organisations
  • Proven track record of prospect building and account management
  • Demonstrable record of success in new business development/sales roles
  • Experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings, and securing income to achieve sales targets
  • Flexibility on working hours
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Criteria

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Keen focus on developing a career within the sports industry


  • Monday – Friday – 9.00am – 5:00pm
  • Increased hours will be required during the cricket season and event days
  • Including working all key matchdays and events at Essex Cricket
