The Hug Group recently launched a childhood obesity intervention, StepITS, which aims to increase physical activity in primary school children with a behaviour change programme based around our proprietary activity monitors (accelerometers) and web platform.
We’re looking to hire a Development Manager to take a strategic lead on the StepITS product.
You will be working very closely with the Hug Group team to help develop and emphasise the public health benefits of StepITS and maximise usage in schools. Using you knowledge of physical activity promotion, behaviour change psychology and public health you will also advise the team on product development and sales/marketing strategy to ensure future iterations of the product are as attractive active to schools and public health teams as possible.
A key part of the role will be to help with positioning StepITS as a public health intervention and manage relationships with public health bodies and school group leaders. Additionally you will be analysing the mass of activity data the programme collects and advising on how it can be best used to meet the company goals.
The ideal candidate with have a relevant first degree and postgraduate degree in physical activity or public health and will have had experience in physical activity initiatives within either an academic or public health setting .
A knowledge of PE in primary schools and KS1/KS2 pedagogy is highly beneficial and playing sport at elite level will be a definite plus.
Enthusiasm, creative thinking and an ability to challenge the status quo are essential.
