The Performance Analyst Internship role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an honest and trustworthy Intern to join our Analyst team at Burnley Football Club to assist with the analytical provision for our first team manager, coaching staff and players.

Performance Analyst Internship role expectations

Reporting to the Analyst and Set Piece Coach, the Performance Analyst Intern will be expected to:

  • Contribute to a comprehensive analytical service for all first team matches.
  • Pre and post-training analysis/support and pre, live and post-match analysis/support which will include subjective analysis, data analysis, file management, filming/coding and clipping/editing.
  • Deliver an exceptionally high standard of work in a pressurised environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ensure all historical and previous resources are databased and stored effectively and made accessible where required.
  • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.
  • To understand and implement the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
  • Promote the Burnley Football Club brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
  • Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality and diversity training.

An ideal Performance Analyst Internship candidate will have;

Essential:

  • Undergraduate Degree or working towards in Performance Analysis or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of using software (i.e. Hudl and Sportscode).
  • A willingness to learn.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a performance analysis role.
  • Experience in using analysis systems.
  • Experience of working in a professional sports environment.
