London Youth Games is recruiting a Head of Operations & Events (Fixed Term)

Role: | To effectively lead and deliver the operations of LYG aligned to our strategic priorities resulting in an exceptional activity and events programme. |
Hours: | 37.5 hours a week |
Salary: | £40,000 per annum |
Contract: | Fixed Term – 10 months (maternity cover) |
Location: | Currently home based. Office base – London South Bank University, SE1
(Flexible approach) |
Holiday: | 25 days per annum in addition to statutory bank holidays and lieu days |

About the London Youth Games
For over 40 years we have proudly delivered an extensive programme of events including over 30 sports, providing opportunities for young Londoners in both their school and community settings. With our fantastic partners Nike, Sport England, the GLA, London Sport and the 33 Boroughs of London we are excited to enter the next phase of our development having recently released our new five-year strategy “Every Young Londoner’s Games”.
Dina Asher-Smith, Raheem Sterling and David Weir are some of the sporting legends who have achieved great things having taken part in the London Youth Games. However, it is not just elite performers we create opportunities for. We are committed to providing opportunities through both participation and volunteering for all young Londoners, with a commitment that our workforce and the Games become reflective of London’s rich diversity. About You
London Youth Games are looking for a great communicator with strong inter-personal skills. You will have experience of delivering a high quality sports programme. You will be able to draw on expertise in running competitions, and will have the ability to innovate and thrive in a changing environment. You will have a strong understanding of sporting pathways and be passionate about the difference that sport can make for young people. You will create and embrace new opportunities to get all young Londoners involved in brilliant sporting opportunities whilst embracing digital solutions to assist in achieving this.
Role Purpose
The Head of Operations and Events for London Youth Games will be required to effectively lead and deliver LYG’s operations aligned to our strategic priorities.
Driving forward the development and delivery of a first-class event programme, ensuring high quality events and activities are delivered to timescales and within budget. |
