Purpose of role

 

 

 

Blackpool FC Community Trust is the charitable arm of Blackpool FC, delivered as a separate organisation, in partnership, with a focus on engaging, developing, inspiring and supporting the people of Blackpool to live better lives.

Project funded thanks to Heart Research UK and Subway Healthy Hearts Grant, as well as through the Premier League. The aims of this provision are to support healthy hearts, which we aim to achieve through physical activity and creating a better social connectivity.

Reporting directly to the Senior Community Sports Officer, the post holder will be appointed to deliver a variety of adult physical activity sessions, targeting females, including:

  • Walking Groups
  • Walking Football
  • Soccercise
  • Female specific weight management programme
  • Community Girls Football Sessions

The delivery of these various programmes will take place midweek evenings alongside Saturday mornings. This post holder will deliver a range of high quality sporting sessions in different environments across Blackpool. As well as enhancing the offer of sporting opportunities for adults in Blackpool. The post holder will also look to develop and inspire the individuals who participate, as well as promote the broader offer that Blackpool FC Community Trust has to offer. The post holder will therefore have a broad range of experience in delivering high quality physical activity sessions.

Please note that the job of Community Sports Officer will be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS procedures.

 

Key Tasks

 

 

 

 

  • Monitor and report on activities using Data Management Systems and provide relevant feedback to Senior Community Sports Officer.
  • Adhering to Community Trust policy and procedures.
  • Develop links and build relationships with both existing/new community stakeholders/partners.

 

Essential
  • Experience of delivering football/ physical activity sessions
  • Plan and deliver football sessions
  • Experience of delivering Community based activities.
  • Knowledge of Blackpool FC Community Trust
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a car for business use
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and personable
  • Knowledge and understanding of child protection/safeguarding
  • NGB Level 2 coaching qualification
Desirable
  • Experience of delivering activities with adults and older adults
  • Experience of delivering physical activity to female audience
  • Exercise to music qualification or similar
  • FA Level 1 in Football Coaching
