College Academy Officer

Reporting to the Education Manager, the main purpose of this College Academy Officer role is to project manage the delivery of the QPR Trust college based academy programme in partnership with Harrow College.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan the yearly practical and coaching syllabus for the Harrow College academy programme.
  2. Deliver practical football coaching sessions for the College academy players.
  3. Deliver classroom sessions for the academy players if relevant and directed by Harrow College.
  4. To develop one to one and group mentoring relationships with young people if applicable.
  5. Respond to general enquiries and deal efficiently with any administration requirements resulting from the implementation of activities.
  6. Attend meetings with Harrow College ensuring clear communication channels with senior members of relevant departments and key individuals.  Maintain effective and positive working relationships.
  7. Abide by Sports Coach UK’s and QPR FC Community Trust Schemes Code of Conduct for Sports Coaches.
  8. Provide cover for other coaching staff if required.
  9. Assist Education Manager in overall college programmes and then sourcing cover for other colleges when coaches are absent.

The type of experience we are looking for:

  • You will display leadership and the ability to engage, inspire and enthuse young people from all backgrounds and communities.
  • Previous experience coaching football or other sports.
  • Working with FE College or Educational background
  • Assisting with an FE Academy. (Minimum 1 year)

Qualifications/Licences:

  • Full driving licence (D1 License if possible)
  • UEFA B Coaching Licence (desirable)
  • FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate
  • Emergency Aid Certificate
  • Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • DBS Certificate

Along with the relevant experience the College Academy Officer post holder must possess excellent communication, time management, organisational and administrative skills.
