Purpose:

The successful candidates will join the dynamic CityTV team, which is tasked with keeping Manchester City at the forefront of digital content and innovation. From hour long documentaries on City+, to jumping on the latest Tik Tok trends, you will assist in the production of high quality, engaging and creative videos, as well as live broadcasts across multiple content platforms.

Within these roles you will be required to research, organise and produce single-camera shoots as well as video clipping/editing in a variety of ways for different platforms and media management systems. You will be a football fan who is also passionate about digital video and social media, know what makes a good story and relish the challenge of producing ambitious content. You will also be highly organised, and constantly willing to learn new systems & workflows.

Accountabilities with Key Outcomes: 
1 Assist with the organisation of the large volume of shoots happening daily, including handling rushes, kit management, and generating ideas.
2 Multi-task during live productions, from video clipping to sourcing tweets.
3 Develop positive working relationships with staff, contributors and talent. To be an effective and committed team player.
4 Contribute and pitch ideas for new strands, encouraging existing and potential audiences to engage with that content.
5 Interpret and implement creative briefs from senior staff, and to work within the resources allocated.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 
Essential

  • Degree in Media/Television Production, or another subject combined with a demonstrable passion for video content.
  • Experience (whether full time or work placement) in a professional production environment, preferably in sports production.
  • Understanding the difference in how Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and OTT platforms treat video, and how this affects the production process.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, and a willingness to further develop video editing skills and use of Creative Cloud.
  • Flexibility (weekend working), strong ideation, working in a multi-camera environment
  • Ability to conduct self professionally when dealing with high-profile contributors.
Desirable

  • Ingesting and organising sensitive or high-profile media.
  • Experience of self-shooting on a range of different cameras, and evidence of using the latest technologies to enhance video production.
  • Understanding the importance of metadata and a knowledge of MAM systems.
  • Operation of live production equipment in a professional gallery.
  • Experience of using cloud-based video clipping and publishing platforms.
  • Evidence of identifying trends early and maximising content opportunities.
  • Experience of helping move a project forward by assisting a production beyond ‘filming or editing’.
