Reporting to the Operations Manager the successful applicant will be employed to create and deliver a positive learning experience that exceeds children and customers’ expectations.  If successful you will have the opportunity to progress to working with learners on an individual and group basis across a range of sports, physical activity and physical education qualifications, traineeships and apprenticeships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To prepare, deliver and evaluate well-structured and progressive PE and physical activity sessions programmes ensuring a high quality, enjoyable experience centred around the needs of the participants
  • Lead and develop assistant educators
  • To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst children, prioritising access and inclusion
  • Assessing learner skills and identify needs and support required, to produce an agreed Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging and inclusive training to young people
  • Provide ongoing encouragement, guidance and support to learners
  • Maintain appropriate planning, attendance and progress records including regular learner reviews
  • Collect and collate participant and customer feedback
  • Complete risk assessments
  • To take positive steps to identify and overcome any barriers to learning
  • Manage behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
  • To carry out duties in accordance with the Aspire and awarding organisation policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding and health and safety.
  • To ensure learners complete qualifications on time in line with internal quality processes
  • To attend appropriate professional development
  • To be a positive role model, creating a positive environment in which to motivate and encourage learners.
  • To be a positive ambassador for the Aspire Active Education Group brand and demonstrate our company values
  • Assist with promoting Aspire products and services

Qualifications:

  • Competent in literacy and numeracy to Level 2
  • First Aid qualification (or willing to work towards)
  • Safeguarding (or willing to work towards)
  • Physical Education/Sports Coaching/Sports Development qualification (desirable)
  • NGB level 2 in any sport
  • Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport (or willing to work towards)
  • Level 2 Award in Multi Skills Development (or willing to work towards)

General:

  • This job is subject to receipt of an enhanced DBS disclosure

  •  Employed status on a contract of 37 hours per week
  • Starting salary of £15,000
